Dancing and stumbling between FOUR languages this evening: English, español, français,
العربية. I met up with an old classmate from my college days. We took Spanish lit classes together; she later went on to earn her M.A. in Spanish and become a Spanish teacher. This past year she has been living in France and teaching English! She happened to be in Barcelona, and she brought along her friend from Tunisia who speaks only French and Arabic (and a little bit of English; he understands some Spanish). We had some tapas and were juggling our conversation between the four languages we have in common...
Tomorrow we are gonna see our old Spanish profesora...
I got back to Barcelona and came back to the apartment where I was staying for a week...it feels so familiar now...
