Berlin, Day 9

Today I went to a park with my German friend Nicole (whom I stayed with last week), some of her friends, and my Turkish friend Omar (the engineer who is also staying at the same host's home). We swam in a lake, tried to balance on the slag line (like a tight rope).

Later in the evening, Omar and I met with Nicole again and some of her friends at a hilltop area where you can see the sunset. We missed most of the sunset, but saw a great view and had an interesting chat with Nicole's friends (from 3 different countries - Poland, Israel, and Spain) about how people in the European Union viewed Obama when he was first running for president, and identity politics in Spain (the Basque people, Catalan, the time in AndalucĂa when Muslims, Jews, and Christians lived together)...

Afterwards, I had dinner with Nicole and Omar in an Arab restaurant, where I got to practice Arabic ;-)

I wish I could write all the details, but alas I'm too tired. I hope I will live in this city someday (but only temporarily - don't worry Mom!)
